Give yourself the gift of time away from life’s responsibilites to focus on your own self healing and inner reflection. This Reiki Master class is from the Holy Fire system of Reiki as taught by one of my teachers, William Rand and the International Center for Reiki Training.

The Holy Fire energy is highly transformative and very powerful. Even though you will learn how to initiate others into Reiki during this Reiki Master class, the main focus is on self healing. In the process of learning the healing techniques and placements, and taking part in the guided meditations, you will receive many healing experiences. In this three day Reiki Master class, you will be ignited to the Holy Fire energy and receive the ability to empower others into Reiki through what are now called placements, as well as to facilitate Holy Love Experiences. Hemma: Tantrik Bhakti Vinyasa with Brian James (June 28)

This workshop at Hemma will explore a tantrik approach to hatha yoga, integrating vinyasa and mantra as whole body prayer to the natural elements within and without. In addition to the classical surya namaskar, we’ll explore mandalas (circular vinyasa sequences) invoking the elements of earth, water, fire, air and moon (chandra namaskar). In addition, you’ll learn mantras to open and close your practice with intention and honouring of the ancestors.

Brian James has spent the past 20 years exploring the connection between yoga, music and shamanism, and over the past 7 years has devoted his life to making the ancient techniques of tantrik hatha yoga relevant and accessible to modern folks of all ages and physical ability. (Read more)

“How you think and feel creates your world,” with Hayley Clarke and Full Circle Bodyworks

Hayley Clarke

When you drop by Hayley Clarke‘s spot in InnerLife, in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre, you can tell something’s different.

Her approach to bodywork is more of blend of modalities & approaches, which you can explore on her profile on the Spirit of Victoria Directory, and her website posted there.

Here’s more, for her profile:

Hayley has developed unique treatment styles that infuse energy work techniques and therapeutic bodywork guided by her natural intuitive gifts. She treats on a physical level, working with the physiology of the muscle using gentle acupressure and massage technique to release muscle tension and pain.

As she treats on physical level feeling for areas of stress and muscle tension in your body, she also has the gift to “sense” or “see” what the underlying stress or blocks are that being held in the cellular memory of your body.

In a session these underlying stressors or blocks will surface when you’re ready to let go of them. When this happens Hayley “sees” or “senses” these stressors or blocks in the energy form of colour (emotions), objects, visions, vibration, feelings or words.

She uses energy balancing techniques to remove these blocks, relieving pain and creating space for flow and communication within your body-mind to heal. This space facilitates the growth for new neuropathways to form so you can create new positive thought patterns, shift your perception, live your life in alignment with your heart and discover personal growth that will benefit your body, mind and soul.

Each session is naturally tailored to meet your needs. Some of the techniques you may experience include Reiki, Shiatsu Massage, Reflexology, Cellular Regeneration Technique, Relaxation Massage, Energy Balancing, Colour and Chakra Balancing.

Nutrition: Soul Food: Spirituality and Nutrition, with Lisa Turner

It’s common in our culture to blend ideas about how we eat & what we eat with what our hearts might say about what we’re doing to grow, spiritually. Lisa Turner explores this in this essay for the Huffington Post:

Soul Food: Spirituality and Nutrition

By Lisa Turner
Years ago, I spent a lot of time in an ashram. One of my jobs (besides less-glamorous stuff like cleaning toilets) was to cook in the kitchens. It was lovely. The food was simple, clean, pure; most of our meals were composed primarily of beans, rice and vegetables, but they tasted like the fare of five-star restaurants. I am convinced it was the serenity and open-heartedness of the people cooking, the melodic chants we sang as we stirred. The spirituality of the place entered the food — or maybe, we became more spiritual because of it.

In a well-known quote from Consuming Passions: The Anthropology of Eating, authors Peter Farb and George Armelagos say, “Food to a large extent is what holds a society together, and eating is closely linked to deep spiritual experiences.”
